Western Sydney Regional Council

The Western Sydney Regional Council exists to serve the parishes of the western region.
Its responsibilities are drawn from a number of Ordinances of Synod, the key ones of which are listed below.

Some of these functions are:

  • Assisting parishes with small loans for property related purposes.
  • Processing parish boundary changes
  • Processing parish amalgamations
  • Processing creation of new ecclesiastical districts (parishes)
  • Sponsoring the annual Western Regional Conference for ministry staff

Meetings and Membership

WSRC meets between 4-8 times a year as the agenda requires. Most meetings take place over Zoom
WSRC membership consists of the Regional Bishop plus elected people from each Mission Area in the region – one clergy person and one lay person from each Area.

Mission Areas in the western region are:

  • Blacktown
  • Blue Mountains
  • Hawkesbury
  • Hill
  • Parramatta
  • Penrith
